Tattoos from "clever ink" will show the state of health of the person, changing the colorsteemCreated with Sketch.

The Anglo-American command of researchers advances the concept of monitoring of biomarkers (biometric indices) of a human body by means of the systems which are not requiring power consumption. This bottleneck of all external and implanted devices – they need the power supply if not for sampling of the same level of glucose then for data transfer on the monitor. It is bulky, inconveniently, expensively.

The new project "Dermal Abyss" is devoted to development of biosensitive substances which function in close contact with blood plasma. It looks as the hypodermic pattern similar to a tattoo through which a part of intracellular liquid proceeds. At the same time there is a constant chemical response because of which color of a pattern depending on concentration of specific substances in an organism changes. Any expenses of energy – while the body lives, the tattoo "pulsates" in a clock period to its rhythms.

Two prototypes of "smart ink" involved in start experiences on pigs. The first reacts to the level of glucose and that becomes more dark, than it is higher. The second serves as a sodium level marker for preventing of dehydration and, on the contrary, increases brightness in process of increase in concentration of this element in blood. It is a problem from problems – a human eye not in forces to recognize shades of a pattern and not to be confused, it is necessary to scan a biosensor by means of the smartphone and to decipher in a special application.

The idea recognizing a status of the person only on color to his Tat, unexpectedly encountered an ethical problem – not all polled people so just agreed here to show information on the health to people around. It is necessary to finish ink, for example, that were shown only by the light of a special medical small lamp. Plus is a question of a longevity of patterns which rather quickly fail because of the continuous chemical responses in a human body.
