The Chinese robot stomatologist for the first time has in the history operated the patient

The South China Morning Post edition reported that in China operation with participation of the robot stomatologist is successfully performed — and the robot operated independently.

The procedure of implantation of two teeth in a jaw of the patient lasted about an hour. Teeth were made by the 3D method - the press and are established according to all standards for this type of operations — with a margin error no more than 0.2 - 0.3 mm.

At the beginning experts from medical staff precisely established the robot concerning the patient, programmed his movements and also planned the angle and depth necessary for implantation of teeth. So so far robots surgeons can't do without the help of people.

The robot stomatologist became the answer to the shortage of qualified specialists in multimillion China. One of features of a profession of the stomatologist – work within limited space of an oral cavity. According to the edition, in China up to 400 million people need denture treatment and only one million receive this type of a medical care. A big problem is also low-quality stomatologic services.

Before mass use of robots stomatologists still far though many developments with participation of robotic devices with AI in recent years were framed. In particular, such devices can already undertake work on treatment of the root channel, carrying out orthodontic operations and to be used when training students. There is no doubt that in the near future there will be robots making operations and on other organs, for example, on a brain or eyes.
