(Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) we got used to wireless data transmission systems for a long time. Also technologies of wireless charging are gradually enhanced. However within the uniform device they still function separately from each other. Researchers from Duke University (Northern Carolina) and Disney Research decided to integrate them in a single whole.
In the wireless systems of charging coils for generation of an electromagnetic field which energy is transferred to the coil which is built in the mobile device are used. According to developers, combination of feed systems and data transfer will reduce the cost, weight and complexity of the device. However there are still problems concerning throughput. To minimize losses of energy in the course of transmission, the antennas working in narrow band of passage which are not suitable for data transfer are necessary.
To overcome it, scientists developed system which uses possibilities of both bands. At the same time the antennas which are "responsible" for transmission of energy use narrow band of passage, and the remaining system in the same time transfers data in broad band.
For check of system effectiveness researchers placed the transmitter and the receiver at distance of 16 cm from each other then the device worked only in an energy transmission mode, or directly in two modes (3 W and 3.39 Mb\s). As a result the single system showed result, is only 2,3% lower than separate.
They should do that for humans, if I could browse Steemit all day consuming energy along with articles AND make money, I'd be set for life.

Really cool. I wonder if there are health side effects, as magnetic fields aren't the best for the human body
