Az Jazz Guitar Lessons #18: Finding Inspiration and Facebook Hate Posts

in inspiration •  7 years ago

Untitled design (11).pngSome people like to post about the guitarists or musicians they HATE.

I sort of understand the feeling of being together hating something. But, over time I feel that finding stuff that inspires is a better use of my time. Build the things you love. Support the musicians that give you energy. Create the environment that allows the art you love to thrive.

Recently, I've been writing reviews of courses, books and videos that I think are cool but don't get discussed that much. When they do sometimes, I read comments that I feel miss the point and the message that the author is making or sharing. So, instead of being frustrated about this, I started writing my own reviews.

I've learned a lot from the process. Part of it is discovering how my fave musicians structure their thoughts and ideas. I've seen different ways to organise musical information. I've seen good practices and some that I don't dig as much.

I'm learning!

So yes, what would YOU do to build on the things you love? Let me know in the comments and link them too (if appropriate).

Do it!
