Those of you only just learning about our minority sport may not be aware that in Australia, one of the richest countries in the world, our sport simply would not exist without selfless men like Aaron @aaronbodyboard and wife Alexia. These two unpaid, but far from unrecognised frothers, work tirelessly behind the scenes to prevent the competitive side of our sport, from sinking into nothing more than a sidenote in the history surfing.

Being a bodyboarder on the Gold Coast can be unpopular. Surrounded by global superstars of the standup world like Mick Fanning and Joel Parkinson (both heroes to me) can make it hard for little brother the bodyboard to get any recognition. And what's even worse, is that despite paying equal registration fees, the overall surfing "kitty" is rumored to be heavily focused on supporting up and coming standup's. These talented little groms already have the respect of the bodyboarding world, do they really need our money too?
Aaron's also in the marine industry and his freakish connection with the water enables him to position himself almost perfectly in the lineup, as demonstrated in the pic above with our big brother from the standup world getting a little too deep.
Aaron is a true hero. You might not find him in bodyboarding magazines, or a top the podium at major international events, but as fellow GCBC members know this local legend commands respect whenever he steps foot onto the white sandy beaches of D'bah.
Whether it is the professional judging standards he brings to our club (Level 2 accreditation), the snags he's cooking up on the barbie (I'm vego, but it still smells good mate), or just throwing buckets and bashing lips at deebs, I think you'll understand why I chose "inspiration" as the first tag to introduce a personal inspiration of mine to the steeemit community.
Always a threat on the competitive stage, Aaron tucking into a tasty little D'bah drainer.
I hope you give this talented yacht rigger, and selfless shredder a big Steemian welcome and support the sport supporting steemit. More bodyboarders to "follow" frothers. But in the meantime, if you have any questions relating to judging in bodyboarding or just want to say hi and show your support for our struggling sport, feel free to leave a comment on this article once resteemed.
Aaron will get back to you, and you will be exposed to hundreds of potential new followers, as his own followers from the world of bodyboarding unite and move to a community supporting them. The steemit community. Fish @beachbuminvestor
