Wow, can't tell ya how fitting today's quote is.

“In times of great stress or adversity, it's always best to keep busy,
to plow your anger and your energy into something positive.”

So here we go lol.

This really works ya know.

How?

The basic idea is tied into the strangest secret again.

You get what you think about most of the time.

If you are upset or feeling a lot of negative emotions, regardless the reason, you are allowing yourself to focus on whatever the issue is.

By staying busy you guide your focus toward work or whatever you are busy with.

The longer you can hold that focus the further away from whatever is troubling you you'll be.

It's best to do something that requires a lot of focus.

This way your thoughts are used up thinking of what you're doing instead of what is bothering you.

Now, I'm not saying to sweep the issue under the rug and pretend it isn't there.

I'm sure it will still be there once you've finished working.

All you are doing here is taking your mind away from the issue for a while to allow the mind to settle down.

If you allowed yourself to get all upset by it, you would just make it worse by attracting more and more of it.

When you focus on something else, those thoughts will fill the mind, allowing the thoughts of your issue to take a backseat.

The further away you can get from it the better.

Once you finish working you will not have as much negative energy toward the issue, it will seem lighter.

This can enable you to look at it with fresh eyes and often you will either find a simple solution or realize it was not as big of an issue as you thought it was.

Also, you did not waste all of your creative energy stewing all day and making matters so much worse.

Instead you used that same time and creative energy to attract things into your life that are related with what you chose to focus on.

So if you are feeling frustrated or sad or whatever, find something positive to do.

Either something fun or something involving work, just make sure that it requires you to think.

This way your thoughts will be bringing you productive things instead of more trouble.

Remember,

“In times of great stress or adversity, it's always best to keep busy,
to plow your anger and your energy into something positive.”

Some things; you have to constantly improve your ability to stay employed.. so there's not much slacking off.

Programming is like that these days; have to keep learning new skills yearly. But most wouldn't do it if they didn't find it so fascinating, what is possible to build..

learning is growing and if you are not growing, you are dying. :)

I have been undervaluing this type of advice for a long time now.

Recently, I began using an interactive schedule A.K.A "a real-life RPG". The one I use is called Do It Now.

There is so much power in not only staying busy but keeping a log or just generally keeping all of my business organized.

Consistency is definitely the key to growth.

Keep up

Very well put @villainy, consistency is very crucial, keep moving forward and stay organized.

Good Stay positive

Another great post it is so true our mind is so powerful if we feed it positivity it will amaze you with what you can do

It really will!

Story of my life!!! Re-directing a negative emotion into something positive is wonderfully liberating... addictive almost ;)

A great addiction to have I would say!

indeed :)

I like to think of this as staying creative. As a composer, you have to be writing at a reasonably consistent basis or you LOSE it. You forget how and then have to get back "into the swing." No pun intended. But to get into the swing you have to stay busy with the artform. I followed you and hope you can check out some of my posts as well! @michaeldavid

It's honestly a lot harder done than said.

But I guess that's what divides the non-doers and the doers.

I always had trouble getting over my anger and all, and I admit that it was mostly my fault.

But yeah... no excuses I guess. Just gotta do it. If it's hard, it's meant to be done.

Often the things worth doing are diffucult for sure :)

Sometimes I want to laze though haha.

me too. balance is key :)

The Strangest Secret wins again! :)

haha, Boom!
