SONGSPIRATION: LESSONS FROM THE SONG#10(LIFE IS SO SHORT BY BERNICE OFFEI)

So it's been a while since my last SONGSPIRATION post, sorry about that. I had to keep pushing it back because of some wakanda (😅) mid-semester exams and then when the weekend came I had to address a different topic that had been bugging me for a while. I just kinda had something to say about how people treat poverty. You can check it out here.

How have you all been doing. Today on SONGSPIRATION I've decided to go indigenous. It's in english by the way so you'd here everything perfectly. I heard this song way back when I was quite young and still dreaming about building a flying car(😙). LIFE IS SHORT is a great song by Bernice Offei, a really great Ghanaian musician. I know you'd like it.

It was but yesterday you were a baby,
But so soon you’re growing, too,
And before you know it you’ve become a lady ,
Or a man with children, too.

Then your health and strength begin to fail you,
And you say “Now, what shall I do?”,
Because the days and years you may have wasted

There's a saying here that the elderly like using on kids that, "I was like you sometime ago, and everything you're doing I've done them before". This goes to say that once you become a part of this world, there's a progress of time and age that you can't control. Time progresses with or without you, and you'd age whether you hide yourself or put yourself in a cryonic chamber. However, even though the circumstance you may find yourself in is not by your doing, the choices and decisions you make are totally yours and time won't wait for you to make the right choices or right a wrong doing. Remember, time waits for no man, and Life Is Short, so don't waste it.

Ok so Life is short, don't waste it, blah blah blah. SO WHAT? Well, for the very fact that life is short, you don't have to keep pushing the things you have to do and would love to do to sometime in the future because, YOU NEVER KNOW what will happen sometime in the future. Take that trip, spend time with family, do the things that make you happy, live the life you want to live and just be yourself. Just enjoy life today to it's fullest. (Please I'm not saying to go partying around like there's no tomorrow😬)

People prey on the fact that life is short and would go out partying all the time, wear themselves out and engage in really risky stuff. Just like the way you'd choose to manage your cash when you're running low on money instead of misusing it, in same sense we have to manage our lives wisely because it's short.

Also, there are people who still believe that there is no God and that nobody created them. Well, I grew up in a home that totally involved God in all their doings and I can safely say that there is a drastic difference between us and the other members of the family. So please, remember God in all your doings, give reverence to Him and consider him in all your actions. THANK YOU

Why it inspires me?,
Well, a while ago I went for an outing with a friend and before asked her what the plans for the occasion was. All she said was no plan was the best plan. Even though I liked spontaneity I was skeptical a bit since it was an outing. But as it turned out, it was better unplanned and was really fun. All you had to do was roll along instead of sticking to some crooked plan. So it's better to just live and do stuff in the moment than plan them. It's way better that way.
