Inspirational Psalm: My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Psalm 62:7

Psalm 62 tells us about one of the most important spiritual gifts of the Old Testament, the trust or the security in God.
This spiritual gift has a very important spiritual meaning, and its meaning is different from that of faith. The sacred scriptures teach us that God is not an idol created by human hands like the false gods of the Canaanites and the Phoenicians, but a God of the living, creator of all things, and who has a plan of salvation for humanity; a God full of wisdom, righteousness, and mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness), a God who communicates to mankind by miracles, wonders, signs, visions, and dreams, his mysterious designs. Man in this context does not need a faith, a belief in what he cannot see, because God makes himself clear to men through his providence.
That is why the Psalm tells us with an inspirational saying about the importance of this gift:
"Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge" Psalm 62:8.
From Noah who was saved from the flood with his family and Abraham who received a promise from God, to the prophets like Isaiah and Daniel, all these men because of their fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion, equanimity) have given proof that the Lord is faithful and cares for his own, that's why the psalm expresses:
"Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge" Psalm 62:5-7.
Those who forget God and his ways, surrendering to the love of riches, instead, the psalm teaches us, see their hope disappointed because the entire universe is subject to the divine laws:
"Do not trust in extortion
or put vain hope in stolen goods;
though your riches increase,
do not set your heart on them" Psalm 62:10.
The Psalm ends by reminding us that in the end, by the will of God, everything returns, the good and the bad:
"You reward everyone according to what they have done" Psalm 62:12.
