At an event hosted by HBO offering a panel discussing the Westworld Series, surpise guest Elon Musk was given the opportunity to speak his overall mission and notion of meaning in humanity. SpaceX has experienced highs and lows, yet Musk has remained determined to altogether change the course of mankind.
"There a lot of negative things in the world. There's a lot of terrible things that are happening all over the world all the time. There are a lot of things that are miserable and kind of get you down. But, life can't just be about solving one miserable problem after another. There need to be things that inspire you -- that make you glad to wake up in the morning and be part of humanity! That's why we did this. This guy called Tsiolkovsky [said], "Earth is the cradle of humanity, but you cannot stay in the cradle forever." It is time to... expand the scope and scale of human consciousness. I find that incredibly exciting! That makes me glad to be alive! I hope you feel the same way." - Elon Musk
Below is a picture that continues to inspire me. Elon stands in front of one expensive failure, yet does not let this incident cripple him. Life is truly about your determination to move forward, rather than allowing your mistakes to impede your potential.
