The Woman at the Well Meets Jesus. Painting by unknown artist
God’s Word Today:
John 4:13-14 NCV
Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give will never be thirsty. The water I give will become a spring of water gushing up inside that person, giving eternal life.”
Thoughts to Ponder:
The woman at the well was searching for something to satisfy her life’s emptiness. She was lacking every single day until the time she met the Man from Galilee at the well.
It’s important to note the place where she met Jesus.
The well is a symbol of community. Mostly situated at a town or city center, it provides the basic need in life.
And at the heart of every community is an individual who is in need of sustenance in life. The community gets to benefit if more people are satisfied in their needs – both physically and spiritually.
Jesus told the lady, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give will never be thirsty.”
Upon hearing this, she ran and told others of the Living Water – Jesus – who gives eternal life. The whole community benefited from her experience.
Have you taken a sip of the Living Water?
If so, you are assured that you will thirst no more!
How about sharing this wonderful spiritual experience today?
In sharing today we can make a huge difference not only to one person’s life but to the existence of a whole community.
We then become springs of The Living Water.
Dear Father,
Thank you for The Living Water, Jesus!
As our thirsty spirits become satisfied by Him, help us to be true springs of hope, mercy, love and eternal life to our community.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
