 God’s Word Today:

1 Corinthians 13:12-13 NCV

It is the same with us. Now we see a dim reflection, as if we were looking into a mirror, but then we shall see clearly. Now I know only a part, but then I will know fully, as God has known me. So these three things continue forever: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.

 Thoughts to Ponder:

Days ago we received word that my mother is back in the hospital.

We constantly pray to Lord for her strength, comfort and healing in her battle with cancer.

Two days ago our little boy had one of his flare-ups yet again. He has an auto-immune medical condition for more than 2 years. He’s been doing good for 2 months until this.

Every single day we pray to the Lord for his strength, comfort and healing.

Many times we’re looking around for answers or any glimmer of an end to these heart-wrenching situations for the past years.

Just the other day, my wife was contemplative of what is God’s plan and message through our son’s condition? I found myself having the same thoughts about my mother.

Paul’s message in 1 Corinthians 13 had most people focusing on love. But as I read the short verse right before the end, I started to see what it truly means.

It tells us that now we have dimness, but there’s a promise of clarity. It mentions that now we only know a part of a whole, but there’s a promise of a full revelation.

As we continue to the last verse of the chapter something was made perfectly clear.

It says, 3 things will (certainly) continue forever: “FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE. But the greatest of these is LOVE.”

And so, we continue in faith to hope and embrace that there’s nothing more powerful than GOD’s LOVE to get my mom, our son, our family and everyone else out there through life’s difficulties.

It’s an assurance that goes beyond our limited understanding, beyond our current difficulties, beyond time and beyond this earthly realm.

Dear Father,

We pray for our faith to be made stronger as we continue to hope and be assured that Your wonderful and powerful love is greater than anything in this life.

Praises be to You.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
