God’s Word Today: Romans 12:21 NCV Do not let evil defeat you, but defeat evil by doing good.Thoughts to Ponder: Fight tooth and nail. Fight fire with fire. To get even. These are the prevalent thoughts we have in our individual battles in this life. We tend to always push back when shoved, to fight and hurt back. But this is not the way of heaven, as our text today stated. Good should always be the center point of our existence. To win over evil that surrounds us is to shine the light of God’s goodness to pierce through the pitch black darkness. When we say God is good all the time and all the time God is good, it urges us to develop God’s nature of goodness (righteousness and love) in our lives. It’s hard to do at times, but with God’s love (we are reminded) it can be done. Dear Father, Help us each day to overcome evil through your power and goodness. On our own we are weak and would not be successful in doing so. Your ways be our ways.
