Peace – God’s Word Today & Thoughts to Ponder

 God’s Word Today:

John 14:27 NCV

I leave you peace; my peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world does. So don’t let your hearts be troubled or afraid.

Thoughts to Ponder:

Albert Eistein said, “Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.”

If we do take into account the causes of wars in history and conflicts in our every day existence it is often rooted upon misunderstandings. Selfishness, imposing of will or force and the sense of entitlement fuel misunderstandings.

In our minds, the chaos around us stirs up our hearts. Then we start to be troubled and be very afraid of uncertainties that come our way. It is during these times we tend to fight back or run away (our natural flight or fight response).

But here is actually a peace that is essential to our existence – “A peace that passes all understanding.”

It is not fleeting; it is everlasting that only God can give.

And the most important point that we should know – it is available to us right now!

It’s always there for us, but our thoughts of despair usually hinder us from experiencing it.

To experience it is to have a deeper understanding and intimate relationship with our Savior Jesus.

He’s telling us today to come nearer to him. He is our true friend and guide.

He doesn’t just carry it – he is the everlasting peace personified.

Dear Father,

We give thanks that You are able to give us the everlasting peace that this unstable world cannot give us.

Help us to continually focus on learning and understanding Your nature and will, so that we may truly achieve Your wonderful peace.

In Jesus Name, Amen. - See more at: http://awinaway.com/2016/08/12/peace/#sthash.kAuYw3XO.dpuf
