By the end of September 2017, Instagram has reached 800 million active monthly users, from 600 million in December 2016, writes Telegraph.
Instagram is the largest social network that allows editing or distributing photos and videos. In 2015 there were about 77.6 million active users in the US, in 2019 this figure is projected to exceed 111 million users.
Globally, every second user is 24 or younger, where in the US this network has surpassed Facebook and Twitter among young people.
Due to the visual nature of the application and the high degree of user engagement, Instagram is a valuable tool for social media marketing. By March 2016, 98 percent of fashion brands had an Instagram profile. Since December 2016, the average number of brand image postings was 27.9 posts per month.
