Why does it matter and what does it mean for you? The current blog summarises the most private instant exchange and why we should care about privacy. I also want to purchase the a private token using the most private instant exchange. Throughout this blog, cryptocurrencies have been invested in to create a portfolio. The running portfolio for this blog (A Cryptocurrency Adventure) will be summarised and most private cryptocurrency added.
Who Cares?
Many assume that privacy is for criminals or users of sites like silk road. Privacy news rarely focuses on its value to consumers and businesses. For a consumer using cryptocurrency, data from transactions of Bitcoin and most major coins and tokens is posted publicly. These transactions are identifiable by government, foreign governments, family members, coworkers, and even employers! Imagine the case for an eager investor diversifying a portfolio of currencies and the fundamentals of that company directly conflict with your own. When that promotion comes up and your employer can openly see you have invested in a competitor, I can imagine that being slightly awkward.
Similarly for businesses, sharing its customer base or investors may have significant limitations. For example, I can’t imagine everyone who invested in Bunny token or VogoV would want that information publicly available, shared with family or put on their CV. Businesses would also not want to share their business activity publicly or even worse, with competitors.
A Satis report indicates that the “largest upside… in the cryptoasset market is in the privacy sector”. They believe this so much that they predict an upside of 38,000% increase for one currency in 10 years. Although I’m not quite as bold to indicate such an increase, I believe that as demand for privacy increases, so will its value.
Why is a private instant exchange important?
While investing or using cryptocurrencies online, the next step to ensuring privacy is an instant exchange which maintains privacy of its user. It would be pointless using a currency like Dash or Monero if you are then going to use an instant exchange which tracks users and requires logins. It would defeat the point in the underlying technology to maintain privacy. On a similar note, for businesses using an instant exchange Application Programming Interface (API) that tracks users indirectly would deter users seeking privacy.
The key areas that encourage privacy in an instant exchange are no account, no verification, no tracking (using Ghostery for comparison below), no KYC (Know Your Customer), and an API which can translate these principles to other businesses.
Based on the summary above and criteria evaluated, Flyp.me is the most private instant exchange. The most significant finding was that it was the only website that I had seen 0 trackers using Ghostery. This should also be worth considering for businesses seeking an instant exchange API.
The next step is to purchase coins which are private using the most private instant exchange. As a result, I have chosen to add ZCash and Dash to the portfolio below.
Summary of the portfolio on the 28th of October 2018
FlypeMe -69% change since 1st of May (see blogpost)
Ethereum -65% change since 4th of June (see blogpost)
Kucoin -50% change since 23rd of June (see blogpost)
EOS +9% change since 12th of September (see blogpost)
ZCash
Dash
If $100 was invested each, it would now be worth $ 223.65.
