ΑΧΩ - Alpha Chi Omega, a women's fraternity based in Indianapolis, Indiana
ASGM - August Seventh Guerrilla Movement
Aryan Brotherhood, a white supremacy, anti-Black group consisting primarily of motorcycle outlaws, such as the Hell's Angels, American Nazi Party members and members of the Manson Family. The Aryan Brotherhood has become allied with the EME based on their mutual anti-Black feelings
BCA - Black Cultural Association, a cultural nationalist grouping dominated by former members of the U.S. organization
BGF - Black Guerrilla Family, a group of black prisoners ideologically connected to the Black Liberation Army; remnant of earlier Black groups such as the Cleaver faction of the Black Panthers, the Black Liberation Army, and U.S.
BIA - Bureau of Indian Affairs
BLA - Black Liberation Army, a group formed from a splinter of the Black Panther Party
BPP - Black Panther Party
CCS - Criminal Conspiracy Section of the LAPD
CRIC - Citizens Research and Investigation Committee

PDIU - Public Disorder Intelligence Unit, a sub-unit of the CCS, which monitors Black political activity in the state of California. Police sources indicate that the predecessor of the PDIU was known as the "Fuck-Fuck Unit", and was involved with running guns to various black militant groups in the late sixties in Watts in the hope of setting off a gang war between the Black Panthers and the U.S. organization
OCDC - Oakland Chino Defense Committee, raised funds for the legal defense of members of the Venceremos Organization accused of aiding a prison escape in 1972
NAARO - National Alliance Against Racism and Oppression
Nuestra Familia, or New Family, once the second most populous and powerful organization in the CA prison system. Originally formed by Chicanos from the rural areas of California as protection from the urban based EME, the Nuestra Familia then competed with EME in narcotics traffic
SCD - Subcommittee on Civil Disorder
SLA - Symbionese Liberation Army

VO - Venceremos Organization, a quasi-Maoist group working in the prison movement until 1972, when they were dismantled by police infiltrators and internal splits
