They know you're going to throw it away. Or if you open it, you'll likely toss it. So they have to get their message in immediately.
Are they telling me that by using my Home Depot card, I can do more work around the house? Build more fences, install more sinks, fix more plumbing?
Or are they really telling me something else subliminally:

If you watch TV for a minute...you've been exposed to it multiple times.
TV(video) is particulary effective. There are many ways to use video techniques to slip past your mental defenses undetected.
