Their wool will grow forever

  • In 2004, a shrimp, a merino sheep, was found hiding in a cave for six years! It was clipped live on New Zealand national television, and there was enough wool to make a suit for 20 men! In 2015, a sheep called Chris was found in Canberra, Australia, with a rune weighing 89 pounds! Unlike wild sheep or "sheep's hair," the wool of native breeds such as merino will only continue to grow, according to Dave Thomas, who worked on a study of sheep at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Astonishing peripheral vision

  • The sheep have quadrangular pupils, which give them an amazing peripheral vision - their field of view is estimated to be between 270 and 320 degrees (humans average around 155 degrees). When you're a prey, it comes in handy. It's like "surround" sound to the eyes.

Some are homosexual

  • Although there are cases of homosexuality in almost all animal species, sheep are the only animals showing same-sex preferences. In domestic sheep herds, up to eight percent of males prefer other males, even when fertile females are around them. In many other animal species, males will fit in certain circumstances - a male with a male and a female with a female, but with sheep, it is a life preference.

The upper lip of a sheep has a distinct groove, which divides the left and right sides, called the filter

  • Sheep are very selective ruminants, prefer stem leaves, and their filter helps them get closer to the ground. Other ruminants cannot go that low.

If they fall on their back, they cannot be corrected

  • Tall sheep, overweight sheep or those with a heavy fleece have a major problem with straightening if they fall on their back. There is even a term for the situation - an overturned sheep. So if you see a sheep in the back, it is likely that she is in stress and panic, so find the owner and help her turn around.

There are deep historical links between sheep and the President of the United States

  • George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison raised sheep. In fact, Madison did not step out of a coat made of sheep's wool. Woodrow Wilson kept the herd in the White House during World War I to graze grass and thus reduce costs, but also to show support for the war effort.

Thanks for these interesting facts about sheep! :)

They like to be close to each other I guess. They are all right next to each other in these pictures. I don't like crowds that much, so it's good that I am a person and not a sheep. :D

Now we have the picture of sheep mentality :)

Hahahahaha

Yes it is characteristic of sheep.
I took these photos when I was camping.

No story of sheep is complete without a story about the poor wolf and a big bad sheep!

Hahahah that's right :D
