Bank of England Increase Rate by .25%

Today, Bank of England (BoE) increases rate by .25% point to .5%

The vote to increase rate was 7-0-2, meaning 7 members of MPC voted for increase while 2 members voted to hold the rate.

What is the effect of this? Are they are right in increase the rate now when #Brexit negotiation is still going on and the effect is uncertain?
