Loughborough Council of Faiths: AGM

in interfaith •  5 years ago  (edited)

Annual General Meeting of Loughborough Council of Faiths this evening at John Storer House. Meeting began with thoughts of David Patterson, who will rightly be remembered as founding father of this Council of Faiths, 25 years ago. David passed away earlier this week and will be sorely missed. After the brief business part of the meeting, we heard tales of personal “Faith Journeys” from Natalie Steel (Brahma Kumaris); Liz Gray (Religious Society of Friends); Denise & Arthur Hardy (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints); Daud Matthews (Muslim).

In an age when some people are trying to divide up cultures it is great to see people coming together. We have so much in common and the differences are minimal. I don't adhere to any faith and we non-believers can get excluded from such gatherings through not being organised when we may have something to contribute.
