DESIGN TIP #1: Shiplap!

Hi everyone, this is my interior design tip #1. You may not know this but I love everything that has to do with a rustic farmhouse, I like to incorporate modern items to decorate with but the bones and structure of a farmhouse are a must in most designs I make.

So the design tip of the day is: SHIPLAP!

[Since I don't have the funds to be an interior designer as I please, I do most of my designs virtually, basically I get an idea in my head, sketch it, then try to do it in the computer with architecture software as close as I can to the picture in my head.]

These pictures I hand picked myself from all over the internet to show you how beautiful, rustic, and how much of an accent shiplap gives to some designs.

The great thing about shiplap is that you can either leave it raw and expose all the beautiful details on the wood or paint it any color you like.

And if you are a DIY kind or person and you have the right tools, making an accent wall with shiplap is crazy easy! I will share with you guys a tutorial I found in a blog of how to make your own shiplap walls:
