QSL cards #1 - Amateur radio

in internet •  7 years ago  (edited)

Amateur radio was a hobby of my father. Since the 60's he was very passionate about it.
People from all over the world use radio stations and try to connect through voice contact with each other (like Skype).
As a confirmation for the made contact, the send each other a card, called QSL Card.

On this card there's information like:

  • station's name (my father's station name was LZ1MZ
  • date & time of the contact
  • type of technology
  • place
  • name
  • personal message

I would like to post some of my father's QSL cards. I am fascinated by their design and simplicity. My father made many friends through his hobby, from all over the world. He even visited some of them abroad, these friendships were very strong and real.

At that time, tens of years before internet, this was a way for people to connect internationally and make friends. My father received thousands of these cards.

This card from 1970 is the first one that I would like to share.

I am also wondering. What is the chance that someone here has received a QSL Card from my father? And still keep it? And can post it here?
Wouldn't this be amazing?...
