Sunday Evening Post, May 20, 2018: "Connection From Korea"

in internet •  7 years ago

Hi Brandon,
I'm Juhyun Lee, and I go to Myungduk Foreign High school in Korea.
For a school project, I'm supposed to find a video with an English dialect and some conversation functions we learned in class. While searching youtube, I thought your interview with Arkansas Redneck Bill Jones was perfect for my presentation...

I received the above message in my inbox one week ago.

About 18 months after posting my interview with "Arkansas Redneck" Bill Jones, a high school student across the world encountered it.

"Perfect," she thought.

In responding to Juhyun's message, I thanked her and helped fill in a couple of spots in the video where she just couldn't quite make out the words Bill spoke. Then I asked if I could share her email in this week's Sunday Evening Post. She replied:

Hi Brandon, I'm okay with being in your weekly email, for sure! I hope a lot of people find it interesting. I'd love to join the group, too! I was also very fascinated by the fact that I got help with my assignment from the original creator by emails. I now really understand what people mean when they say internet connects the world. :D -Juhyun

Connections, of course, is a cornerstone of my work. And now Juhyun has been introduced to an Arkansas character and culture. At the same time, a Korean high school student connects to all of you reading this message.

Ah, the internet:)

stay connected,

-Brandon
