L-R is newly promoted Assistant Comptroller-General, Mr Oche and Alhaji Babandede, the Comptroller-General of the service

Friends, family members, colleagues and well wishers are still clicking glasses to his promotion. That is Mr. Williams Igoche Oche who was recently elevated to the rank of an Assistant Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Services, (NIS). In this picture, even his boss, Alhaji Mohammed Babandede, is not left out in obviously saying ‘well done’ to a rising star of the service.

No one can be blamed for celebrating promotion in the Nigerian Immigration Service anymore. It is no longer an unreasonable exertion to do so now because migration has moved into the centre of the theory and practice of security in the post Cold War. But, would Nigerians get improved services following the injection of a new broom into the upper echelon of the para-military organisation? That is the question raised by Oche’s promotion and the happiness that seems to enjoy across the board!
