Hello my relatives, my name is Matt Barkhausen, I am a Native American artist, graphic artist and designer, writer, independent journalist and entrepreneur. I am a citizen of the Citizen of Skarù·ręʔ Katèhnu·ʔaka (Tuscarora – People of the Cypress) nation.

PUBLICATIONS
My first publication was in 1999 in Red ink Magazine. From 2002-2005 I was a Staff Writer for Seventh Native American Generation Magazine. EDUCATION
I studied interactive media design at the undergraduate level and American Indian Law, Global Affairs, and Political Science at the Graduate level. All with emphasis in indigenous studies and indigenous politics.

PUBLIC SERVICE
I served two-consecutive two-year terms as a Commissioner on the Denver American Indian Commission for the Denver Mayor's Office of Human Rights and Community Partnerships. I am a 2010 Graduate Fellow of the First Nations Development Institute LEAD Fellowship for Native American nonprofit leadership and a 2010 Graduate fellow of the Center for Progressive Leaderships Political Leaders fellowship.

I was also a fully credentialed participant, through the Fourth World Center for the Study of Indigenous Law and Politics, to the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.
