Hey Everyone.
First off let me be perfectly upfront. I absolutely hate talking about myself! I'd much rather talk about anything else, computers, trucks, current events, crypto currencies or even paint drying! Now combine this with my aptitude for tools, electronics and machinery over a pen and paper and it makes this first post a daunting task indeed..
With that out of the way I'll still do my best to make this a worth while read.
So where to begin. I'm a 40 something Owner of a small computer shop I run from my home since 97' as a hobby business and starting in 2000 as a full time job. I handle sales of PC's and service of just about anything electronic, right down to some low level component repairs. As with nearly everything else I was pretty much self taught and pride myself on honest, reasonable and reliable service. I'm not getting rich from it anytime soon but I have many very happy customers that refer friends and family to me.
My previous career was a machine mechanic and machinist and I do have a passion for working with anything metal. I enjoy designing and building all sorts of different things. For toys, I own an ancient Bobcat skid steer and nearly as old Bobcat Mini excavator. The skidder I use to clear my driveway in the winter and the mini ex i picked up to do some landscape work around the house. I do love my toys. lol
Now lets skip over to the side thats likely more interesting to the crowd reading this. Crypto!
So my adventures in crypto like many started in mid 2013 just around the time of the Dogecoin introduction. I purchased 2 R9-270's to do some light mining and got involved in crypto trading with the mining earnings. My learnnig and earning were actually going well, but it didn't take long to get a taste of the cutthroat side of the community. Sadly I was part of the crew that got burned in the Wolong pump and dump. Anyone around at the time can attest, it was a slaughter and an outright scam by Wolong to rip off his own crew.
I was lucky enough not to lose everything in that event but it sure hurt the pocketbook. But thats not all folks it gets better!
I Did learn a few things along the way, how to trade and even persuade the market a bit, I got my feet wet, tasted the victory and i was hooked! After gpulling up my boots and counting my coins I found I still had a little bit left to play with.
I can rebuild!
Yeah-no.. I still had not gotten a taste of the Big guns! Lets all give a big round of applause to the Cryptorush and Mint exchanges. Now those disasters, aka/scams, Took a happy go lucky rising investor and curb stomped the living sh!t out of his desire to continue in crypto. Between those two suddenly shutting down, hacked, embezzled, etc I lost all but 2000 Dogecoins. I wont go into what was lost, but it was substantial at the time. Oh and later in life, Cryptsy went down with a whole 2 and change of my Doge. lol
Fast forward to 2017, Bitcoin is rising, with more coins and opportunities for the masses, I had an itch to play again. Apparently crypto curb stomps aren't permanent, That or I've lost the brain cells that say 'WTF Dont!', Either way I'm back into the thick of it.
I've been following along and watching quite a few Social media personalities that have enabled me to make some better informed and more thought out investments and market moves.
And at this point I'd like to give a shout out to Trevon James (trevonjb) whom I have to admit was a large part in inspiring me to get back into cryptos. If you get a chance I recommend checking him out.
Also shout out to Crypto Daily, Crypto Girl, Crypto Tips, Jeti Knight and scores of others I cant recall off the top of my head. Without people like you to tell it like it is and give good level headed options, people like me would never return or even try crypto. I encourage everyone to look these people up and see what they have to say and how they help the community.
To get back into crypto I went the technical route. I had 2 R9-270's for mining and decided to make a larger mining rig. A nice day trip around my end of the province and 5 used AMD video cards later ad a few bits and pieces I had a rig that was earning about $55 US a week so I saved that up and made some investments.
First one is Bitconnect Its in a different class from the high yield investment platforms aka:HYIP you normally see. Its supported by a proper coin and a blockchain and gives a modest return on your investment.
I'm currently about $800 invested into Bitconnect, Its still early and with the recent market volatility its been a bit of a roller coaster ride, for someone just getting started in it I just say, Dont Panic! I have full confidence in Bitconnect and enjoy being a part of it and watching it and my investments grow.
Anyone who is interested in learning more about it I'd be happy to try and answer any questions you may have about it.
The next one I'm still on the fence about. Its called Bitpetite. It is not supported with a blockchain like Bitconnect but it does provide a service of a coin tumbler for a fee so the platform has a means of supporting itself without incoming investors. That was enough for me to drop $40 in to just for sh!ts and giggles, so far it hasent skipped a beat.
I'll try and post weekly and share any new and exciting or even boring events and update how my investing progresses or if i've taken the plunge on anything new.
I'll drop my 2 referral links here if i've helped in any way i'd appreciate the signup but by no means are you obligated.
