Hi, I'm Jim

Hello everyone,

I’m Jim, or you can call me Blueblim.

I have just started home-schooling my daughter. I am entering a new page in my life and it looks like you Steemians are going to be a big part of it.

I was looking for something to keep me busy and perhaps make us some money during my daughter’s study periods. So I decided to rekindle my love for poetry and writing. I needed somewhere I could post my artistic outpourings for cash, so a friend of mine introduced me to Steemit and from the start I was very impressed.

I found beautifully written articles, deep and delicate poems, interesting videos and there’s a whole bunch of other stuff which I haven’t explored yet.

I love the positivity for other people’s work that flows within this site and also love the idea of being paid for ideas.

I applaud the whole Ethos behind the Steemit system.

As this wonderful site grows in popularity, STEEM itself will be inevitably forced up in price giving us more return on our payments. YAY!

I have every faith that if we preserve this paradise and oil it’s wheels tenderly we will all be better off in money and entertainment for many years to come.

I am also very into the style of Steampunk as you can see from my picture so it seems almost fated that I should join up.

So here I am. You got me and it’s nice to meet you.

Hi, I'm Jim (Or did I already say that? I’m a bit forgetful).

Anyone that knows me would say I am impulsive, thoughtful, kind and quirky. A little chaotic and some might even say a bit weird and neurotic. I’m getting a bit long in the tooth these days but there’s still plenty of tiger left in the tank.

I am six foot 2 inches tall, slim built, with a wicked sense of humour, blonde hair and brown eyes. I come from Cheshire in the UK and I love to be creative and like to think outside the box as often as I can.

I have very diverse tastes in all forms of creativity and have to be artistic to keep my mind happy.

I write lyrics, fiction, poetry, compose music and video and I love making sculpture and art. I enjoy word play and love the idea of leaving my mark on other people’s minds.

I live with my lovely girlfriend Dawn, my delightful daughter Fern and Pip the Parson’s Jack Russell in a semi- detached house (box shaped) in a tiny rural town called Neston.

I make and write, in my-self built cob hobbit workshop at the bottom of the garden. (Not box shaped)

I love nature and I am inspired by its diversity, complexity and beauty.

As a family we love walking in our local woodland. There is such a fascinating variety of tree, fungi and unusual organisms to see, it is inspiring to the mind.

I love the feeling of freedom and timelessness that you get from standing in the middle of a huge old wood. It gives me perspective and the space to let go of my mundane thoughts and let my mind be free.

We love to get lost in the woods or wherever we go.

We like geo-caching and we love seeking treasure boxes that take us off route and off course. We have done this for many years now and go to stupid lengths to find the untouched and un-walked areas, sometimes finding ourselves knee deep in bog mud with a river to cross and no way back.

We have a huge amount of fun doing it though, and occasionally we stumble upon wonderful natural sights that make it so worth-while but we’ve had some hairy life threatening moments too.

Like a metaphor for life, you find the most interesting things when you don’t follow the path.

Whilst walking, if I see something organic that grabs my attention, like an unusual cluster of mushrooms, I study them, photograph them and when I return home I disappear in my cob hobbit workshop to recreate them from silicone and wire with my friend James.

We light-up the inside with LED’S, mount them onto oak bark, decorate with moss and sell them on the internet.

The woods are my favourite place to reflect, but I also find inspiration by the sea or any large expanse of water. These are the places where my mind is open, where poetry circles around my head and music plays freely, where the sound of industry is drowned out by the waves or the rustling leaves.

We explore some of these wonderful places of our beautiful world in our ex-post-office multi-colourful camper van George who we also drive to festivals to sell our crafts or just to enjoy.

One of my favourite things in life is making outdoor fires and looking up at the stars at night. I adore making music around the campfire and I am never happier than when I’m basking in fire-light, bashing away on a tank drum or a set of bongos, bathing in the love of my friends and family.

All these things give me inspiration to write, rhyme, rhythm and line which I intend on sharing with all you lovely folk.

So let the fun begin.
