21 things I learnt by 21

This is my first steemit post so just thought I’d share the list of things I wrote in my last days of being 20 🌸
So here... in no particular order, here is some things I have learnt so far 😊

  1. Be kind- You never know what other people are going through
  2. Be caring- help anyone in need when you can. We are all human, we should all look out for each other.
  3. Be less judgemental- see everyone as yourself, say; born into different circumstances, having a hard time, making less informed decisions.
  4. Do what makes you happy- what is the point in anything if you are miserable?
  5. Believe in yourself- you can achieve absolutely anything.
  6. Self care is not selfish- do what you need to do for your mental and physical wellbeing.
  7. Don’t listen to unhappy people- they will never be your cheerleaders.
  8. Don’t let people belittle your dreams- they will never reach theirs and don’t want you to reach yours either.
  9. Adults/parents/teachers aren’t always right- enough said.
  10. Your soul speaks in feelings- always honour your feelings.
  11. Question everything- things aren’t always what they seem.
  12. Depression doesn’t have to last forever- things may seem hopeless, but there is hope.
  13. Everything that has happened, has lead you to where you are now- you may decide to judge certain events or circumstances as “bad” or “undesirable” but you never know where they might take you.
  14. Failure is success if you learn from it- when something doesn’t work, you are a step closer to figuring out how it does.
  15. Authority is an illusion- no body owns you
  16. Know your rights- or they’ll be violated
  17. Television is a waste of time
  18. Rethink everything you think you know- question your beliefs and make sure they are your own.
  19. People are much nicer when they are happy- people who try to hurt you are hurting.
  20. You will always reap what you sew- you get what you give.
  21. Your thoughts create your reality- learn to control your thoughts

And a few extras because I wasn’t done 😂...

  1. Only you can fix you- you will heal when you choose to, you will recover when you want to. Other people can only help to a certain extent, it comes down to you.
  2. Love your body, it loves you- feed it well, rest it, run it, respect it and thank it for all it does for you.
  3. Be fearless- be unapologetically you
  4. Do what scares you- and then eventually it won’t anymore
  5. Don’t take life too seriously, stress is a waste of time.
  6. Move passed regret as quickly as possible, the past is gone, the only time is now.
  7. Live your life! Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed, you never know when your time is up- so do everything you want to do, at every opportunity.
  8. Love yourself- it effects everything.
