Hello Steemians!
I am excited to be here! I am a storyteller and an idea person. I will expand on all the ideas in a future post. For now I want to focus on storytelling. I started telling stories at a very young age, well before I discovered there is much power in a story.
My fascination with the power of stories actually began while I was hospitalized for a life threatening staph infection that resulted from an extensive surgery for ovarian cancer. I had to stay in the hospital for an extended period of time, so I started looking for ways to entertain myself.
The hospital library was only a short walk from my room. It was well stocked with children’s books and games. Since I had a lot of time, I wound up reading about 90% of the collection. I began to notice that many of the books targeted for young readers had a comforting effect and I found them soothing.
That began my journey of research on using story for transformation. I have much further to go, many plans, and look forward to sharing my journey with you!
