Where Are All The Gamers At?
Hello my fair Steemians, it is my absolute pleasure to bring you your daily gaming news, Monday to Friday, in Vlog format. Because this is Steemit I will also be doing an exclusive Steemit blog post every Sunday that has something to do with gaming, be it a console, a specific video game, a period in general of gaming, anything else gaming related. I’ll also be posting in depth reviews of the multiple games I’ve been playing through.
The Gaming Industry Is Massive, Why Not Bring Some Of That To Steemit?
The gaming and entertainment sectors of the world today take up a solid chunk of revenue over the years. Today the global Video game market alone is valued at over 93 billion dollars, 16.5 billion of that was in software sales which is an excellent indicator that the video game industry is healthy and progressing. Over 63% of houses in the United States have at least one constant gamer (plays at least hours a week) and over 65% of households own some type of modern gaming console. Even the average age has increased as the gaming generation grow older and older, looks like it's kicked all the way up to 35 in recent years. 59% are male and 41% are female gamers, so it truly is a topic that caters to both genders. Nicely done girls!
International video game revenue is estimated to be $81.5B in 2014.[50] This is more than double the revenue of the international film industry in 2013.[51] In 2015 it was estimated at US$91.5 billion.
The largest nations by estimated video game revenues in 2016 are China ($24.4B), the United States ($23.5B) and Japan ($12.4B).[53] The largest regions in 2015 were Asia-Pacific ($43.1B), North America ($23.8B), and Western Europe ($15.6B).[52]

Yes I did and I'm glad to see you here. Content discovery is not great on this platform, so I never noticed your posts, but I'll try to keep up on them now.

I am actually an Indie Game Developer. I posted Game Dev blogs (I believe 8 of them) which didn't receive much attention or discussion. I also did three game give away lotto posts. The first I made a couple of SBD for a $10 game, the others I made $0 for a $20 game, and $0 for another $10 game. I was okay with that other than it ate into my four posts per day before penalty quota, so it was not worth continuing.
There are gamers here. It just seems there is not a big enough interest yet to make it the best thing to talk about. I'll talk about game development more, of this I have no doubt.
There are quite a few things I could write about the subject, but I don't think the audience is very big yet for that type of content.

Fair enough, I'm kinda just enjoying doing it for the fun of it. I already game a ton, why not slap it up on the internet something told me. But I definitely hear you, the gaming community is.... limited at best here on steemit, I'm hoping adding gaming content will help get that ball rolling and entice other gamers to come to the social media that pays, maybe even some bigger names in the gaming community like opitic teams or faze.
Either way I shall do my best to provide some quality content and bring that to the steemit community. Thanks for the comment though I really appreciate it and its nice to that there's some actual gamer's out there, especially an actual indie developer. Super cool man.

I do think there is a gaming community here, just none of us appear to be whales or dolphins at this point so our up votes are not yet worth much. That will change eventually.

Thats just it, theres a huge gaming community, just not here. Evenutually if steemit survives it will diversify and the gaming community will become a bigger part. But for now I shall keep producing gaming content and hopefully help drive traffic towards steemit. Ill always mention that the audience has the ability to be paid on steemit as well in my videos so hopefully that will help.
