An Introduction to the Life and Adventures of a Small Ginger Girl

Hey Everyone!

My name is Julia Halstead. I recently heard about Steemit from my husband. I promptly joined and have been observing everything for the last couple of days. And I have to say, I think this is my platform of preference. (: This place is awesome!

Let me introduce myself:

I’m a dancer/choreographer and a florist. I grew up trying all sorts of different things in Omaha, Nebraska (which contrary to popular belief, is not one giant cornfield). After high school I finally made the decision to pursue my love of dance, and moved to Kansas City to study choreography in modern dance and show production. During those years I married my childhood friend, Tyler Halstead, one of the coolest people you will ever meet who also comes from Nebraska.

In the Fall of 2014 we moved back to Omaha, after several years of both the most incredible times and rather frustrating struggles. (I can tell you more about that another time. :) Once back in Omaha, I started my wedding + event floral business and found some really cool people to dance with and Tyler began a job at Flywheel – a tech savvy, whimsical WordPress hosting company. During our latest season in Omaha we’ve immensely enjoyed being a part of the up and coming tech and art scenes, making hilarious YouTube videos and eating LOTS of delicious food. (Omaha has a ridiculous amount of restaurants per capita. What?!) I also started dabbling in some basic coding, WordPress web development and baking a crap ton.

On the 26th of  October 2016 we moved to Stuttgart, Germany. Tyler is a part of Flywheel’s initial international expansion to offer twenty-four hour support for their clients. As for me though? I really have no idea what I'm going to be doing here, yet. Maybe hanging out on Steemit all the time?

Whatever it is I end up doing, hopefully I can share it with you all! Along with some random thoughts on things I've been researching, some insights into Jungian personality theory, stories of our adventures traveling, and maybe some recipes and pictures of the crap I bake.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So there's a brief synopsis of my story! As for more personal things: I love writing, cats and all things tiny and adorable. I thrive on new information and the applications for that information. I'm a maker and a creative with a penchant for trying everything at least once. There's a lot that I don't know or understand, but I'm learning that it's a very good place to be. It makes you grow and become a better person, who can actually help your fellow man.

Steemit is seriously awesome. I'm really enjoying the community and information that's available here, and I'd like to do my best adding to it. I'm tremendously excited for all of the possibilities a platform like this possesses.  To someone who's just getting starting here, what would you say your favorite part about Steemit is?

Welcome to SteemIt from one Ginger to another :)

What I like is the fact that I write and people read and comment on my writing!

One day I may make a living from it too - which is another point in favour of SteemIt :)

Haha, thanks! :)

The opportunity for direct feedback really is awesome.

Best of luck to you!

And the same to you :)
