Well....that title may be a little misleading. @BitcoinMeister doesn't know me but know him! I follow his Youtube postings. He is one crazy dude and I love his to the point upfront crazy "Strong Hand" style!!
Bitcoin Meister mentioned Steemit in a posting I was listening to recently. I got curious and took a look. Found @JoePary on Youtube with some very helpful posts on how Steemit works.
I've never blogged. But now I am. I love learning new things.
I've been on this Bitcoin Blockchain journey for the past 6 months. Downloading into my head all the information I could find until I thought my head would explode. I've stepped into a new diamension.
I'm hooked.
I'm addicted.
I'm in.
This is the future.
This is my future.
When I was a kid I wanted to be a teacher.
I didn't end up a teacher, but I do teach.
I enjoy mentoring and encouraging people to stretch their comfort zone. Colleagues, friends and for my Toastmasters Club.
I started this blog as I want to help newbies to learn about blockchain, to encourage newbies to not be scared, to take a look. It's ok. I want to help them so they are ready for the future or they will be left behind and be totally confused and lost. I also need to learn it to explain it to my mum.
I'm still a newbie. No one should feel dumb when they are learning. This new jargon messes with your brain!! haha! but that's ok. Go at your own pace.
I'm a paralegal with an additional degree in Commercial Law.
I work for a company that builds 1000's of houses. Prior I managed a property finance company. We funded massive residential developments. Then the GFC hit. Ouch. That wasn't a fun time. But it gave me insight to how it can go all wrong. Watch the movies "The Big Short" and "Inside Job" - very true movies.
Prior to that I worked for a solicitor doing conveyancing, commercial and deceased estates work.
I am an entrepreneur. I buy and renovate houses. Last year I backed my friend into our own beautician business. As soon as I can my clients and tenants will pay in crypto.
I am often asked for advice on property. Of course I'm not a registered financial advisor, but I should be. 2018 goal.
I got into sharing trading way back, which knowledge helps me recognise the highs and lows that Bitcoin is going through whilst it beds in. @BitcoinMeister is right, Strong Hand. Stay calm. Be in for the longride.
I'm also a crazy cat lady. Very crazy.
On the side I race cars. Yes I am behind the steering wheel (Why do people ask that question?! I didn't say I watch car racing! haha). I race in the BMW Race Driver Series in New Zealand. I love the adrenaline, the art of cornering well and the speed.
So now you know something about me.
I AM EXCITED ABOUT BLOCKCHAIN!!!
THE HOUSING SECTOR WILL MASSIVELY CHANGE
The property and legal sector do not know what is going to hit them. These sectors are going to be massively DISRUPTED!!! Revolutionised!
Building and buying houses will have less friction. Less Escrow Agents (solicitors, banks, councils and compliance processes) slowing things down, adding costs. Houses will be cheaper. Applying for a Building Consent in New Zealand is an exercise in killing trees. Laborious and paper work driven. INEFFICIENT!
Imagine using Blockchain. As a house is built each part of the process, each party (electrician, plumber, concrete layer, roofer, banker, solicitor, etc) is signed off - not on paper, no sending email PDF's, no printing - but on a Blockchain. Each party that is part of building a house is no longer working in a silo, causing friction as they check paper work and tick their own boxes. They work as one on a Blockchain making the process fasterand more efficient.
Blockchain does the box ticking with Smart Contracts. Blockchain does the KYC and AML* compliance with digital ID and digital signatures. Houses will be cheaper.
(*Know Your Client and Anti Money Laundering are compliance requirements financial institutions and solicitors must follow google it to learn more).
Can you imaging buying a house and you get a full record of the house from ground up. All the warranties. You know the source of all the materials. Is that cladding really eco friendly?
Right now when you buy a house you pay a lot of money for a mystrey.
Take that a step further for cars, history from manufacture through each owner and all the work done on the car. Honest transparent information.
I sold a house last week and had to get myself to the solicitor's office and pick up a pen and sign papers, show ID. Inconvenient. Like - so has to change!!!
I put the concept to my solicitor of me signing with a ditigal signature and having ditigal ID which complied with KYC and AML whilst I'm on the other side of the world. They could not fathom it. But the law doesnt recognise these things they said. The law is always behind and will catch up.
Applying for a house to rent and getting tenants will be so much easier with this technology.
I AM EXCITED!!
I want to be a part of this change. I see myself training the lawyers and the property industry in Blockchain and smart contracts.
I've invested in various cryptocurrency.
I'm so excited about Blockchain I bought the number plate for my car BLKCHN (can only have 6 letters/numbers in NZ).
WRAP UP
I will also blog about other things. About issues that resonate with me. EQ and CQ are important to me. Empowering women is important to me. Call me a feminist. I don't care as I can't hear the nay sayers as I'm driving my race car too fast whilst checking my Jaxx crypto wallet!
Be surrounded by people who build you up.
Everyone have a great holiday break no matter what your faith. If you aren't having a holiday in your country (it may be winter, Summer in NZ), then I wish you well anyway.
Take care all.
Let's watch the world change.
No personal photo.....i wrote steemit in cat biscuits! lol!
