I'am Tess!

Hi Steemit Friends!

My name is Tess Ellingsen, I'am 30 years old from beautiful Norway. This is my very first post on Steemit, so I though I would just introduce myself as all of this is new to me.
Let me just tell you right away I'am that kinda girl you Love or Hate.
I'am straight forward and you get the truth, no BS!

!

Where to start...

If you are a parent and your child is finally old enough to learn how to ride a bike. Do you expect he/she to just jump on the bicycle and start cycling down the road, turn around and bike right back to you ? Without falling once ?

No.... You wouldn't.. at least I hope not...
So why do you expect to be perfect at everything you try for the first time ? The reason I start with this is because I'am very passionate about failing. That might sound weird, but I really believe that we should embrace failure. And that we need to have a Growth Mindset, and say "what can I learn from this?"

I have realized that I'am so tired of the "Perfect Pink life" everyone is living on social media these days. It's crazy how this has developed the last few years. (baby's being used as accessories, dressed in "cute dresses" to look good, even before they can crawl) It's INSANE! So I will go way out of my comfort zone to share my real life, the real me, my real struggles and challenges from day to day. I will be 100% honest and share "as much as I can"
considering I have a husband and a daughter in my life!

Even tho it is uncomfortable (It is actually something I like doing because I always gain growth in the process) I hope to inspire YOU and others to take action towards your goals and dreams in life. I hope to make you realize that you are good enough, that you are worthy!
And that you can achieve your dreams!!

Believe You Can, And You Are Halfway There!

hi, Thanks, I'll check it out :)

I think we are a part of something truly special here, and I welcome you! Another early adopter to this amazing technology.

Yes, let's hope so. It sure feels like it :)

Hi, I am @cryptkeeper17 and I am hosting a seven day contest to sponsor for free at least one person into @steembasicincome, which costs $1.000sbd to join. I would like to extend you an invite, it does not cost you anything, and the entire payout is going to sponsor one (or more) new members in this club among the new steemit members that enter the contest. https://steemit.com/earthnation/@cryptkeeper17/contest-for-minnows-free-membership-to-steem-basic-income-possible-010-upvotes-1517857865

Hi, what do I need to do?

Very little actually. To enter you just need to upvote and resteem the post above, and place a comment link with the post you wish that you have made in the last day or so, like this one. After all of that I see your comment, and you are in the contest. I make sure everyone that takes the time to do all of that walks away with at least a nice upvote.

Most welcome to steemit
Best of luck

Thank you! a lot to learn :)

Welcome, Tess! I am very new here as well. I like the idea of being raw and real here though! I hope I can come more out of my shell. I am so used to write information, straight-forward facts, so it's going to take some practice!

Hi, nice meeting you! Yes I'am the total opposite. and I love that, that we are different but can just be our selves :) Good luck!

Hello Tess,

As I read what you wrote about failure, I was reminded of some wise words from a very successful person. I've read and listed to a lot of successful people, so I'm not sure exactly who I heard it from, but I believe it was Gary Halbert whom I first heard this from: fail fast.

If failure is part of the path to success, then it's best to fail fastt. And, if something's not fur you, it's best to find out fast, which is through failure, so it's still good to fail fast.

And speaking about failure, we can also re-think it: instead of seeing failure as a yes-or-no, all-or-nothing dicotomy, you can see it in a more measurable fashion. In other words, it's rare that one absolutely fails (unless one doesn't take action). The question is: if you took action, what results did you get, regardless of whether you failed or not?

And this brings up another point: you have to be able to measure your progress.

As for what you said about social media, I feel that a lot of people only show the light on socical media: we don't see the dark part of their lives. (Granted, I'll plead guiltiy to being someone who falls into the "only light" category.) There's light and dark, yin and yang in everything. Those who don't show their struggles may be presenting an skewed image of themselves.

In any case, good first post, and I look forwrd to reading more from you.

Incidentally, I happened to comment on another post, in which the author described the very same "perfect pink life" illusion you alluded to. In her post, she essentially says (and I paraphrase), "I look happy in that picture, but inside, I'm depressed."

Thank you for sharing! Yes, I totally agree :)

Welcome to steem! Good luck!

Thank you :)

Welcome onboard.

Thank you:)

Hello. I joined the steemit just a few days ago and I hope that we could communicate each other. I followed you :D

Yes, I only speak english :)

Welcome to Steemit @missbillionaire. Nice to see you here. You look much younger than 30. I really wonder about Norway. I wish you would share the posts about your country. Best.

Yeah, Norway is really beautiful. I might do that ;)
