My one month journey with SteemitsteemCreated with Sketch.

In the picture is me: @mokluc (Lucky) @ned (Ned) and @gavvet (Gavin)
I had the privilege to attend Steem Saturday event in South Africa at Indaba Hotel. This is the same place I was awarded the “top award” for the Emerging genius in South Africa by Popular mechanics magazine, so I always associate it with great things happening in my life. Then it happened I got a chance to personally meet the man behind @steemit Ned Scott.

I was introduced to Steemit by @gavvet who is the top user or should I say “whale” in South Africa. I was attending a hackathon for Open data for municipalities and I was busy “mining” on MinerGate.

@gavvet actually saw me and asked about my knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain and realised my interest, so he told me about Steemit and right there I opened my account. I can tell you right now I am addicted to Steemit…he warmed me thou.

I also aspire to be one of the top users on Steemit and also contribute to Steemit tools.

I am a geek, technology freak, electronics engineer, programmer, mobile app developer, technical trainer, entrepreneur…so @gavvet advised that I blog about technology. If you go through my blogs on Steemit it has been mostly about technology and science…”My adruino fun projects” and recently @blockchain also like the idea and advised I add more details on my blogs like schematics and coding and as a results grow the arduino tag and traffic to the site.

One month stats:

Sometimes I used to make $0…YES zero for a really good content but I never gave up.

Project @curie:
Is Cryptocurrency and Open-data the answer to Africa’s thriving corruption and poverty?

My experience with Steemit in the last month:

I used to write using raw edit then use HTML to compile my blogs and also for a good layout but now I find Markdown to be very easy and saving time to edit which I really recommend for beginners.

I come up with an idea for my blog but I noticed I spend a lot of time editing the blog. The most frustrating issue I have has been the “uploading of pictures”…sometimes I have more than 10 images, then uploading them on https://picload.org/ then get URL links...it takes time…even the site giving errors of abuse.

The same frustration I am going through has been explain under @joanaltres Steemit community what kind of software would you like me to create for you free no strings by @contentking

@everittdmickey says We need a thing

YES “We need a thang” you know…that thang…with a WOW thing...

Well as a “programmer” I am to working on a solution.

It will so wonderful to just attached all the images from your PC then Steemit does all the uploading and getting the URL links for you.

I am glad I met @thecryptodrive (Ricardo) at the Steemit Saturday event. @thecryptodrive is one the first Steemit witness in South Africa and he is the genius behind @steemsports @steemdrive. He also managed to crowdfund enough funds for Steemit Billboards.

I find it easy to share my crazy ideas with people as crazy as I am because they understand me…and I am glad @thecryptodrive is on the same crazy level as me. I pitched my idea to him on how to grow @steemsports and how we can work together on my idea…he loved it…well if he was normal he was going to say "I am crazy"...we will definitely implement it…Steem ON!!!

Another "thing" I'd love to see here is a way to track the relationship between two users. (Facebook has something like this.) I'd love to be able to see how much interaction I've actually had with any specific person on Steemit. When I click the drop-down arrow next to my post's votes, I only see, what the top20 or so? And yes, I can go look on steemd.com for vote details on any one post, but what if I'm missing a person who has consistently upvoted me? What if I notice them on one post, but not another and don't then reciprocate? I would love to see that data collected and arranged so that I can know if somebody out there deserves my attention, and I'm not giving it to them.

Good idea...

You are definitely not a bot and are 100% as crazy as I am! Thanks for the great mention and look forward to doing great things together! Steem ON! Wonderful meeting you in person at Steem Saturday!

Steem ON...

welcome @mokluc and it looks like you are starting off very well meeting some of the "Whales" of steemit.
full $teem ahead!

😇

Hi Lucky, great recollection of Saturday. Your proof of non-botship was brilliant - you inspired me to at least posed with @ned for a photo, but I must tell you, I was jealous! I also found Ricardo's talk very inspiring and helped me to let my developer mind going.

I came prepared...printed my name and waited for the right moment...I knew i had to do a proper intro despite being a month on Steemit...I hope it wont be @ned last visit

great post!!! You are not a bot :) You are so sweet steemian
