I was in the 2nd grade-I had just transferred from the local Catholic Academy to a public elementary school. I was shy. I can still be shy.
My first assignment was to write a poem about an animal. I chose a worm. It was a creature I could relate to at the time the most. So here it goes
THE WORM,
written by 7 year old @nixter
There once was a worm who crawled on the wall.
He said to himself, "why am I so small"?
The world is so BIG-
I love to dig. What can it be? For, I can not see...

I am so happy to be here. I read a lot about this site before today and the technology here seems incredible and interesting. What an epic place to share my thoughts, ideals and poems, as well meet many amazing peeps

You are very kind! I didn't speak when I was a kid. I barely spoke and stuttered when I tried to speak in the 2nd grade. I was super shy and quite. So, when I wrote this poem, it just sorta was there. Ya know? It was just there, all along. I will post many more. So please, if you follow me, you can see my evolution as a poet. who knows, maybe I was better at 7 y/o :)

@nixter You have a follower in me. People and poems are like wine, as they aged they'll grow richer. Nope, with more experience in life, love, relationships etc. I'm sure you'll be better than when you're 7 years old. Just keep on writing from the heart.
