Hi Steemians,
I am so happy to be here. My name is Rafia Fatima and I am from Hyderabad, India. Hyderabad, the city of nawabs, known for its rich cultural heritage and its love for Mughal dishes. The city of smiles, lights, and a thousand faces is endearingly called as the Pearl City.
Standing majestically in the midst of the crowded old city, is the Charminar-the huge but elegant arch, a masterpiece of Qutub Shahi architecture.
Other famous places to visit:
Nehru Zoological Park:
Nehru Zoological Park is one of the largest zoos of India and one of the top sightseeing places to visit in Hyderabad. Run by the Forest department, Government of Telangana, the zoo has been named after Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of the country. It is one of the most visited destinations in Hyderabad.
Spread over an area of approximately 380 acres, the Nehru Zoo Park boasts of almost 1,500 species of birds, mammals and reptiles. Adding to the extensive varieties of wildlife, this zoo park is considered to be the first one where animals have been kept in zoological order.
Adding to the overall experience are the extensive range of activities to do in Hyderabad Zoo Park. Various Safaris, such as lion safari, bear safari and bison safari, along with toy train makes the visit all the more exciting. Butterfly Park, Jurassic Park, aquariums, etc., also let you explore the wildlife in a fun yet educational manner.
Jaalvihar water park:
Jalavaihar is the largest waterpark in central hyderabad - right on the necklace road. Safe, clean water with unlimited fun for Kids and Adults alike. It is a family entertainment park and one of the prime tourist attractions in Hyderabad city.
Snow World:
The only place in Hyderabad where it snows throughout the year, Snow World is quite a hit amongst the locals and the tourists alike. It is the World's biggest and the first snow-themed park in India. It only gets unique with snowfall produced of mineral water.

Soak and splash in exhilarating water rides, feel the rush of adrenaline on high-thrill rides, and get pampered with the finest facilities in leisure for the whole family.
Golkonda Fort:
Golconda Fort Hyderabad is an outstanding example of brilliant engineering and magical architecture. With perimeters of around 11 kilometers, the fort has 15 to 18 foot high walls. It has huge gates that have pointed iron spikes on them. This protected the fort from Elephants damaging the fort as well as enemy attacks. The fort presents a mesmerizing architecture which will astonish you at each and every step.
Another feature that makes Golconda fort all the more attractive is the light and sound show presenting its history and facts. The sound and light show at Golconda Fort is done in three languages namely English, Hindi and Telugu with a voice over of Bollywood living legend Amitabh Bachchan.
It is said that Golconda fort used to be a famous diamond market attracting merchants from all over the world. It was at Golconda that the famous Kohinoor and Hope diamonds along with others such as The Regent Diamond, Darya-e Nur, Nur-Ul-Ain Diamond were stored.
Salarjung Museum:
Located on the southern bank of the river Musi, Salar Jung Museum is popularly known for its one of largest one-man collections of the world. The museum is one of the Hyderabad sightseeing places that must be visited.
Salar Jung Museum of Hyderabad is the third largest museum in India.
a collection of close to 43000 art objects, 9000 manuscripts and 47000 printed books, Salar Jung Museum promises a rich experience to all its visitors.
The collection in museum is consisted of Indian Art, Far Eastern Art, European Art, Children Art, Middle Eastern Art, as well as Founders gallery and rare manuscript section. One of the major attractions of the museum is the 19th Century British Musical Clock. This clock was sold by Cooke and Kelvey of England. Another rare object at the museum is Veiled Rebecca, a marble statue, which was brought by Salar Jung I in 1876, on his trip to Italy.
There is also a set of ivory chairs, which was presented to Tippu Sultan of Mysore by to Louis XVI of France. Rehal, the jade books stand; a dragger of Jehangir, a fruit knife of Noorjehan, both decorated with precious stones; Arabic and Persian Manuscripts; a rare manuscript on mathematics – Lilawati; valuable medical encyclopaedia belonging to ancient India; rare paintings, etc., are just a few of the extensive collection here at Salarjung Museum.

Hyderabad is famous all over the world for its mouth watering Dum-Biryani and offcourse Pista House haleem...
For shopping we can go to GVK One mall, Inorbit One mall, The Forum Sujana Mall. But I personally prefer shopping on streets as it is fun, there’s something about street shopping that makes it truly unique, with its own charm.
Laad Bazar is situated next to the Charminar. Here, you will find shops that sell excellent perfumes, jewellery and garments.
The market, not just offers wide range of colour bangles to customers but also zari and embroidery works, sarees to other traditional clothing stuff along semi-precious stones. Laad bazaar pearls are equally famous too. Although a wide range of attractive items are being sold here, to buy the same you need to a master of bargaining! Bargaining for each and every item you decide to buy is a must. The prices are also enhanced extensively owing to the bargaining tradition of the place. Once bargained, you will be surprised by how cheap things are in Laad bazaar! It is not only the Laad Bazaar bangles, that people visit this place for; this ages old market is like a never ending fair. From mouth-watering eating choices to jewellery shops; shops for bridal wear to sequinned skirts and bags; Hyderabadi pearls to junk jewellery; this place has almost everything that a woman can have is her shopping list.
For the third consecutive time, Hyderabad emerged as the Indian city with the best quality of living, according to Mercer's Quality of Living rankings 2017.
So this is about my city, Hyderabad, a must place to visit....
