Me, myself and Tushi..a peak into my journey from a small Green village in the Himalayas of India to another Green called California

Hi Steemians, I want to include you all in my life by sharing my journey so far...

I was born and brought up in a small town called Bakloh, Himachal in India which has a population of less than 500 people.

It is a small knit community where the mainstream occupation is farming and the second most popular thing is growing cannabis (Ganja). Yes, you read it correct. But at that time as a child I was not even aware of my green surroundings. Growing up I was a shy and an introvert guy whose life revolved around school and family. I literally had no friends, I was always self-conscious and lived that way 18 years of my school life.
I needed a change in my monotonous unexisting life so I made a big decision to explore more and do something about my future. I made up my mind to study further and got into a reputed engineering college in a big city in India,1000’s and 1000’s of miles away from home. That was the first time I traveled and lived alone. Trust me it was even worst than my nightmares. But as you all steemians know life is a journey and you learn something new either from others or from yourself. Gradually it got better, I made some good friends who are still in my life, participated in many co-curricular activities and represented my college in soccer and cricket. I started going out more and more and guess what my first club experience was at 24.
This is one of my photos of my initial college days in the city.

Now I had friends, a good life and I wanted more. What could have been a better option than coming to the US for my further studies.I landed up in California, US but this time it was very very far away from home. I assumed life in US will be easy and fun but initially I had my share of rough times. I shared a small apartment with 6 other guys as living and studying in California was expensive. I worked in gas stations, restaurants and small stores to make a living and pay my bills. It was not all that gloomy, I enjoyed the time when I was not working or going to college and that was mostly partying and living the American dream.
This is me during my college days in California.

Coming to the present, I am an engineer working for a corporate company. I have a beautiful wife and am living life with no regrets. But as you all know curiosity kills the cat so I want to explore more, travel far across, write blogs, eat the different cuisines as my interest lies here and that’s why my friends I am here in Steemit.

I have many things in my mind which I can’t write in this introduction post but I will definitely write engaging blogs to cover rest of the story. Follow me to read the best. I will be posting next about: My college life in US, visit to India after 10 years, adventures or misadventures in the US, wedding trip to India, trying out the different cuisines, and many more.

Cheers people!
