The Discovery of a Lifetime

Hello Steemers,

My name is Anita Banks and I believe that finding Steem is the discovery of a lifetime. I am so excited about the opportunity to meet others through sharing what we love and what we feel may be of value to the community.

Though born and raised on the east coast of the United States, I spent my junior year of college in Paris and later traveled extensively to many parts of the world over the course of a 25 year government career. At one time I was fairly fluent in French, but today I would need a dictionary to carry on a decent conversation.

One of my greatest joys during those 25 years of government service was the chance to spend time traveling through Asia and The Caribbean (7 years in total). What did I grow to appreciate the most? Beautiful Beaches! I could never get enough of blue skies, white sands, and moonlit mountaintops overlooking breathtaking coves.

Just this year I launched a fanpage “Beautiful Beach Pics”. It’s been quite stunning to see this page grow practically on auto-pilot with many favorable comments. Below are a couple of photos from this page.

My Love Affair with Cute Animal Pics

Above I revealed my passion for beautiful beaches. Recently, however I fell in love with something else - cute little animal pictures. And yes you guessed it, I started another fanpage, “Animals Playing Pics”.

I spent the winter and spring watching a 24 hour live web cam of two bald eagles protecting their nest and two young eaglets. It was exciting to watch the eaglets grow to the size of their parents and then all fly away to who knows where. Will they return next winter? I’m hoping they will.

The animal pics I love the most however are those showing different species playing together - babies and their pets, cats and dogs, cats and birds.

The world would be quite a different place if all of mankind could come together in this way.

The Other Loves in My Life

Another one of my passions is music. I started taking piano lessons at age 7 and now many years later I enjoy writing all kinds of music (classical to jazz), choral music for both children and adults, music for film and more.
Though not a great singer, I do enjoy singing in choirs and just recently starting to explore the world of voiceover artists. I’m sure that music will be the subject of some of my future posts along with humorous and motivational memes.

When not engaged in the above activities, I enjoy my two smart and very talented sisters, three godchildren, and a significant other who keeps me from living with my head in the sand.

Life is good and getting better all the time, especially now that I have discovered Steem and Steemers!
