You’re not going to believe this. Everything... I mean everything... can be fixed

I basically live in a jacuzzi, 85 miles from the equator. I’m not a vegan but because my major calorific intake is beer and Doritos, I may accidentally become one in due course.

My first post was on why men like me become sleazebags and what society needs to do about it. This was triggered by some uncomfortable introspection around #metoo and the Aziz Ansari allegations in particular. https://steemit.com/sex/@alexanderhilton/positive-sexuality-the-aziz-ansari-problem

I have a day job in PR (sort of), and if you read the Aziz Ansari Post you will see I have in mind the sort of content that doesn’t fit with the firm’s messaging. Though the boss is always keen on thought pieces, he prefers fewer references to porn, vaginas (vaginae?) and he’s not too keen on the ripe Anglo Saxon.

I believe the world is going to shit.

Brexit and Trumpism. Putin and the global decline of democracy. A seeming growth of rape culture. Humanity’s disregard for the resources under our care, and the inevitable conflicts that will arise. The divisions between rich and poor and how AI and robotics will exacerbate tensions. The world’s fucked and I wouldn’t want to bring a child into it.

But I do believe everything can be fixed. Possibly from my jacuzzi. Maybe on Steemit.

So I intend to write here about how the world can be made better. But also about any other stuff I find interesting.

For example, I like video games, travelling, I’m intrigued by crypto stuff. So who knows what I’ll post here.

But I’ll look forward to getting to know you.

Hey, I'm Oatmeal Joey, but is Steem and Bitcoin a product of capitalism or communism or how does blockchain and cryptocurrency work? What is the secret behind Steem? Is the secret socialism or is it competition?

The secret behind Steem? I think with so many crypto based projects, we just don’t know yet whether or not they work. An initial massive availability of tokens, together with enthusiasm for the project makes it hard to tell which projects will survive.

My instinct is that the whole crypto thing is driven by an anarcho-Capitalism. And not necessarily in a bad way.

I love capitalism and that is why I like Steem, Bitcoin, etc. When I say capitalism, I don't mean crony capitalism which is more aligned with corporatism, monopolism, plutocracy, socialism, communism, bigger government, etc. In other words, I'm more for anarcho-capitalism like you said which is a lot better than globalism. On one hand, a bad version of anarchy would be bad, but that is only hypothetical. We don't live in a world full of anarchy. And a world of anarchy would have more good elements to it than it would have bad elements. Real anarchy is not really chaos. That is only a 1% possibility.

But we live in a world with big governments, corporations, unions, groups, and anarchy can seek to balance the corruption seen on the extreme of cancerous government as it grows as absolute power corrupts absolutely or worse. I like competition and everything. Yeah, some tokens will survive and some will not. And that is what life is all about. It adds like Yoda mystery in life as we are able to try our best in the survival of the fittest to be the yummiest oatmeal ever.
