A Photo is a frozen moment of an obvious reality but, behind that reality, there are other figures and scenes hidden between the lights and shadows. I want to give life to those and put them into a context.
I also want to present them in such a way that they remind of in the observer lost memories, emotions held in their subconscious and feelings that continuously play around in their minds looking for the opportunity to be recreated for them in their life experiences. I would like the observer to open the Pandora’s Box in their minds and feel the sensations that my work induces in the same way the sight of a lemon trigger salivation.
In my approach to photography, I am mixing techniques and tools used in the photography itself, combined with the techniques of color and texture used in painting; and as a result, I invite the observer to question if my work is either a photo or a painting.
