Hello Steemit, my name is Amani (uh-man-ee) #introduceyourself. I go by amfntreasure to remind myself of the brilliance that is emerging as I begin to trust my calling. I live in beautiful Oakland, California.

Last month I married my best friend who has believed in my abilities more than I ever have.

I'm here because writing has been a outlet for me privately my whole life. After years of journaling, writing research papers, and editing for others, it is finally time that I express myself through creative writing.

I spent years doing what was expected of me, completing college and graduate school, but feeling unfulfilled and not getting anywhere. I spent a lot time in therapy, reading, and practicing spiritual healing to discover and accept who I am. I learned that I shouldn't be doing things solely to please my family or because I believe it's what they want, because living that way doesn't honor anyone.

Another thing I realized is that no matter how much I wanted it at first, I end up hating every job I've ever taken and despite my education, my jobs never turned into careers. I just got a new job in January and vowed that this one will be my last as I nurture my dreams and monetize them.

My Dreams

My ultimate dream is to become a professional pool player. I'm also exploring writing and developing a food business (I'll tell you more about it in another post, I promise!). It's not easy, but far more fulfilling than any job I've ever had. I'll be using Steemit to document how I got to this point and the lessons I learn as I continue to grow.

Aspiration

My aspirations in life are to solve problems and to be an innovator and I ecstatically look forward to living as such.
