I have to admit, five years ago if you had told me that I'd be jumping on board with cryptocurrencies, P2P social media, and general aversion to government, I would have laughed in your face. I would have laughed in your face all the way to MEPS on the way to sign my contract for the Army. Of course, five years ago I was a very different guy.
My name's Andrei Chira. I was born in Romania, moved to the United States in '92 with my parents. I grew up in California, met my future wife while on a forum online, and eventually moved to good ol' Alabama in 2010. I joined the U.S. Army a couple of years after that, and served until getting out July of last year. Since then, I've progressed towards full-blown voluntarysim, gave up smoking for vaping, and have been trying to write my magnum opus (which is just a fancy name for a fantasy book I wanted to write since I was a teenager).
All in all, I'm extremely excited to be a part of this project. I love ideas that allow for real, quality interaction on the internet between interested parties. Facebook, and to a large extent Twitter, have become so inundated with noise specifically because there's no incentive structure for quality content. The way Steemit is set up, at least as I understand it, provides fantastic incentives to produced quality content and be actively involved. The best part is it's incentivized in cryptocurrency, and I'm all about obviating formal, government-regulated institutions of exchange :D
So this is me. I'm looking forward to being a part of this fantastic project, and I'll see you all around here!
wellcome
