Hey Steemit community,
I've been wishing for this kind of platform since I first discovered that I love to write.
I've discovered Steemit by pure coincidence and I've been googling and reading on reddit a ton - to understand the dos and donts and to get a better sense of the community and its values.
Yesterday, my account was approved. :D
Who am I?
My name is Andrei Ticuleanu, I'm a 25-year old guy from Bucharest, Romania, with a deep love for everything tech. Writing has been my main source of income for about 5 years now: did a little bit of freelance work, was part of a digital agency, an Email Security company working as a Marketing Specialist, and now, I work as a Business Analyst (with intent to move forward to UI/UX) at an organization that focuses on low-code, rapid-development and smart contracts implementation. (among other things)
You can find me on Facebook and on Twitter (but I rarely use Twitter).
I love to make music
I've been playing guitar for about 10 years now - self-thought theory, ear & musical training, as well as the discipline to always get better without the worry of I-Might-Not-Sound-As-Good-As-I-Thought.
A couple of years ago I launched my first experimental-electro music album with an indie-label from the UK (Detached Audio).
I'm not humble when I say that I'm not a good musician. I consider myself to be a realist.
I'm mediocre but I know I have the passion to make something that I can call my own (almost my own because most of my work includes splicing samples). Now that I've got your curiosity, my favorite own tracks are:
I love to game (and do gaming journalism)
I'm a gamer since birth.
I've gamed with my dad (and still do), organize lan-parties with friends, was part of a professional WoW-guild back in TBC, was a CS 1.6 fanatic at one point in my life and I was part of a Professional Gamers League waaay back in 2006-2007 in Romania.
Now, I usually play on Nintendo Switch with my friends (quite good at Mario Kart 8 tbh), the usual Overwatch late-night session on PC (don't hate me, but I play MEI), I game with my girlfriend on my PS4 (Little Big Planet 3 has to be the most amazing game to play with a non-gamer SO) and the end of the month weekend is reserved for me and my pops. We play Heroes of Might and Magic 3 with the In the Wake of Gods expansion.
Fun fact: my dad plays this game since I showed it to him back in 1999 or 2000 (I forget which).
I love UI/UX design
For the past year or so, I've been tough at work learning the principles of good UI / UX, learning tools (Illustrator and Adobe XD). I think that regardless of how good a product you have, if you don't know how to make your customer's interaction with said product easier, and provide a great experience with it, you're going to get beat by your competition.
To wrap it up (because I might write a whole novel if I don't put a stop to this post)...
What can I do to help the community?
- I know a lot of copy/content writing resources and know-how that I can share with you guys and girls
- I can share my Marketing knowledge (meager, as it may be)
- I can help with sound-design tips and tricks
- We can learn together UI / UX (and I'll also share my resources)
- Write some in-depth posts about the games I love (I've been meddling with Don't Starve which I highly recommend)
...and a lot of other things that would require a different post to talk about. :D
Hope this isn't that long.
Really excited to be part of this community. :)
