Hello to SteemIt with 6 Fun Ideas To Stretch Your Inner Einstein

in introduceyourself •  7 years ago

Hello, steemers! It’s so good to be here!

Proof of Life:

me

Everyone has a unique story with unique value

After reading a lot of serious books, listening to people like Ray Kurzweil, Jocko Willink, Sir Richard Branson and others, watching a lot of TED talks, I still thought that I had nothing to share until recently.

“You are too boring”, “You are too serious and nerdy”, “Who will ever read your thoughts, dumbass” - my brain kept telling me. Familiar?

The problem was simple: it wasn’t right. It wasn’t even my thoughts. It's phrases, ideas, and concepts of other people which I added automatically to my mind because it seemed appealing and accurate at the time.

Idea: don't hesitate to share everything. It's fine!

Stars

When you see stars, everything's fine

You know that stories when people are talking about how bad it was? Don't slip there.

You know why?

Ask Stephen Hawking, former Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, about "bad stories." While having ALS and have all rights and permissions in the world to complain, he still provides the best piece of advice: "People won't have time for you if you are always angry or complaining."

Idea: Whining and complaining are great tricksters. I like to refer them as "Negative Actions" because when you complain, you think you're doing something, but it won't get you anywhere.

Bear

Barbell

For some reason, we all have tendency to choose highly balanced actions. We like when everything is in some zone when it’s not too hard and not too simple.

Often, only by doing that, we often get mediocre experiences.

Instead of choosing mediocre experience and not even noticing it, the best thing is to choose extremes to some extent.

For example, read highly scientific books and simple, bright, colorful and inspiring books where imagination flow freely.
Sounds like nonsense, right? Try it. You’ll see the difference immediately.

Thoughts: We love extreme differences between things. It helps us to comprehend the world. We just forgot how to use it.

alt

TIYI

Many people out there are highly intelligent, but they couldn’t “find a cocoa on Cocoa Island.” They are "The Intellectuals Yet Idiots."

These people always give advice they don't follow. Therefore, they didn't know what they're talking about.

They seem very confident but operate in some weird magical space where they could invent their own rules. Like “Thoughtland.”

Especially those who call themselves “happiness guru.” They talk about happiness while looking quite exhausted and unhappy. Ask them what’s happiness, and they can’t answer directly (because nobody knows).

Why don’t they discuss what makes us unhappy instead?

For example, if you illuminate a dump boss and dull colleges and find a great working environment - you will be happier automatically, right?

Idea: some ideas may appeal superior, yet they don't work at all in reality.

alt

You never know when an apple will fall

On my journey, I made a lot of mistakes. The biggest one is that I didn't finish my degree while it was cheap. I thought it would not be necessary in the future. It turned out, I was right. Partly.
For dumb jobs, for small goals, it's okay.

When I tried to do something bigger, I couldn’t do it because I didn’t have enough resources. Epic fail.

Idea: You never know what you’ll need in the future, so try to acquire assets and skills before it happens.

Beliefs and the Dark Side

The Dark Side is a lie. It’s tempting, but only disciplined Jedi mind can bring value and improve life.

Our mind looks like a Banyan tree. If you have, for example, the wrong roots, every conclusion you make will be based on that and will be mostly wrong.
The mind takes that as a basis to make all those quick thoughts popping in our minds. They are not spontaneous.

It's called beliefs.

Other people can transfer either their knowledge or their limitations. If there is no knowledge, just let them go and find knowledge from other sources. It's natural.

And humans might believe in something that destroys them like the Sith from Star Wars belived that the Dark Side makes them stronger. Their Banyan tree

Idea: if you look closely to ideas and concepts from your past, you can understand better why something doesn't work in your life.

SteemIt

I'd like to contribute to the community and bring value. I already started writing Steem blockchain applications and I will announce them soon.

Also, I'm trying to allocate some time for writing. I have several ideas of articles that people might like.

So, be legendary my friends. See you soon!

Super Quick and Boring Facts

  • English is not my first language, but it’s my favorite one
  • I’m a Polish descendant
  • I just read books and scientific articles until my eyes fall out
  • I’m a full stack web developer writing in JS and Golang
  • Fascinated by human mind and consciousness in particular, although I don’t understand them at all
  • Enjoy and admire life itself, universe, imagination and open-minded people

great post really if you unterested tourism and nature i pleasure to visit my blog thanks my dear

Thanks! Can't say much about tourism because haven't had enough experience with that but I love walking and hiking - the best way to relax and clear the mind 😊

I enjoyed your introduction post a lot and your comparison of the mind to a banyan tree really stood out for me :)

Thanks, Jon! Glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah, about banyan tree. As I read, it's common for ancient europeans to represent knowledge with only one trunk.
But scientists often say that minds are more a network of multiple core ideas and layers upon layers so a banyan tree is a great analogy I suppose :)

A few years ago I read about a forest that was actually a connected root system so wasn't really individual trees but a large colony/hive organism. This true story reminded me of a sci-fi book where a scientist gave herself a version of turrets and created an organic ai that worked on virus, mold and bees. And recently have been hearing how our digestive bacteria is linked to our cognitive state and health. I have a 17 year old and have had many discussions on how the flux of hormones will skew his thinking randomly and intensely. So one of my thoughts is how we integrate the upcoming digital mind meshing technologies with our complex and intertwining biological systems.
Yes I know those were a deluge of semi-random snippets of ideas but I sense a pattern that will play heavily in future exploration of conscience.....

I think we'll fast but gradually come there. You might enjoy watching Ray Kurzweil videos where he describes the process of integrating our biological systems with digital worlds.

Every information technology has an exponential evolution instead of linear one so I think we will figure it out soon using computers as tools of comprehending.

BTW, if you like sci-fi, you might enjoy reading Blindsight by Peter Watts - mind-blowing book with several pretty heavy twists.

Thanks I am always trying to find new authors

:) awesome!

Lots of opportunities has been lost to negative mind action. This is one problem that is common to all human beings. Sometimes u think no one is noticing you , when actually the crowd is searching for yiu

That's one interesting point. Thank you!

I firmly believe that we should focus more on learning everyday. That's the way to all good things in life.

And today I learned a new form of expressing an idea from you. I think that's indeed the great way of expressing this concept. Thank you very much that you take your time to write this valuable comment!

Great, thanks! :)

you're welcome :)

Resteemed! Love your style.

I got a question. You say English is your favorite.. Why's that

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Thanks for the kind words :) Honestly, I don't know exactly. I know 2 languages and I just love everything about English for some reason. I even prefer to use it as my first language in my mind, although I don't have anyone around who speak it fluently or would like to use it every day :)

Thats pretty cool you are going to start with blockchain apps. Are you going to specifically do them for steemit? BTW welcome. @nezbong

Thanks!

I'd like to create several apps for Steem blockchain like ChainBB from @jesta or SteemQ from @xeroc

Actually, as I mentioned, I already started creating them so the first will be released this week. Don't know whether it would be useful or not but definitely worth trying. I'm going to write more about it in the next couple of days.

Sounds awesome. I will watch out for your blog on the release. I will let you know if it is useful or not. well my opinion I should say:)

Thanks, appreciate it! 😃

Hilarious! Thanks for proving you are alive and not simply in just the biological sense (sense of humor might be a qualifying factor for life in the future...)!

Sense of humor? Never heard of it, what's that? 😃 Anyway, thanks!

That was good read, following, thank you!

Thanks, Lark! Followed you too!

YAY! Welcome nerdy person to Steemit!! Nerdy people are the best, so nerd away! I'm on the hunt right now to look for more nerdy people on steemit.

YAY! 😃 Thanks, @omega-not Love physics, and mathematics? Join the club! 😂

I mostly self-taught at almost anything, even in English, so can't say I have a deep knowledge of complex subjects like physics and mathematics but it doesn't prevent me from enjoying them. I can talk a lot about human psychology, cognition and of course about everything related to computers and programming.

Omega... isn't it an electrical resistance representation? Why Omega-Not then? Oh, I know, I know! Because you're irresistible, right? 😃

Lol, my username is a long story... but anyway, that's great! I'm all about learning too.

I taught myself calc 1 before I had to take the class. I've also been self teaching myself different programming languages and about computers in general. My major is actually computer science - programming. I'm still a rookie of course. I'm glad I stumbled across your blog. ^-^

That's incredible! Another "learning machine" as Charlie Munger like to refer this kind of people 😃 We'll definitely chat later but now it's like 4 AM here - need to recharge 🤔

Very open minded and original information my friend. Well done! Upvoted!
