My previous account was @allstarrunner , but I have now offically made the switch to @ArtistChristian.
Why the switch?
When I first came to steemit, I had no idea really what Steemit was and what I would end up doing on Steemit, so, I signed up with my default username that I've been using since I was probably about 15!
However, it became clear over the course of time that my main focus was going to be art, which was fine for my previous account - but even more recently I decided I wanted to do a more complete series of art tutorials using video (here is the intro video post) and it felt confusing to have a user name of @allstarrunner while going by the visible name of Artist Christian on Steemit - hence the switch!
No longer will my thumbnails have to say @allstarrunner, but I can actually use @ArtistChristian! Less confusion!
I imagine I will be posting some of my old art on this account too, but if you'd like to see some of my art, feel free to check out my old account @allstarrunner.
If art is something you enjoy and if you'd like to see tutorials and processes I use when using traditional media, please give my new account a follow!
My goal is for this new account to be a place where anyone on steemit can go if learning art is something that interests them. There are already plenty of tutorials on YouTube but I thought I would throw my hat into the ring for Steemit!

Looks like some good stuff. Do you do watercolor tutorials also? I always found watercolors to be interesting looking and maybe one day I will try.

Thanks! I sure will be doing watercolor tutorials! In fact, my first real video was on just that topic, basic watercolor materials. I will be doing a lot more videos, although I need to get a new camera so the quality is better - but they will be coming in time!

I checked out the video. I didn't comment there because of your new channel (do we call them channels on steemit?) anyways, looks like I have everything I need to get started with watercolor except for the brushes because I did end up getting a pack of brushes awhile ago. Everything has been sitting in my closet collecting dust. I have a few craft stores near my house and I'll pick up a brush after work and then give it a try for the first time.
I'm looking to create stuff like:
I probably won't do faces to start with but I'd like to get to that level. Also I don't know who the artist of this is, I found it doing a google image search.

I agree, I love this style! I have many pictures from other artists saved on my comp to serve as reference photos - even though I have never really gotten around to doing this style myself, but I hope to soon.

Funny you should mention that! I did give it a small nod in my recent post, but I didn't want to elaborate since the finer details would be divulged later, which would be Friday my time. Whatever the result would be, there would be dedicated posts about that for sure!

Yes, absolutely. In fact, because I need to get a new camera, it will start with mostly photos; but even later, I will always include photos. The video's are mostly going to be for explaining the general techniques I use - because it's much easier to show in video form; but pictures will still be heavily used! :)

Probably watercolor washes. Or maybe doing another materials video for some of my drawing stuff. I'm definitely going to do a video showing my "dry brush" process (where I use oil paint on my drawings).
