Introduce yourself! Pro fisherman turned firefighter- Ocean and adventure LOVER!

G'day Guys,

My name is Ash, and I'm pumped to join the Steemit community- Thanks so much for an awesome platform!

A little about myself:

I am a proud Australian Firefighter and avid diver and fisherman. I love the ocean and outdoors- however as you could imagine its a pretty damn hard life working at sea!

From being a fisherman I went on to work in conservation and bush-care, and ended up a full time firefighter, one of the most exciting, adrenaline filled and rewarding jobs in the world. There's no better career than helping others in their greatest times of need.

When I'm not working, I spend tonnes of time chasing my passions, which are of course the outdoors, surfing, fishing, diving and conservation. I'm also always on the hunt for others keen on the water, so feel free to hit me up and swap stories and photos of your own times. I love catch and release fishing, so am always keen to hear others' techniques and methods on quickly releasing fish for survival!

I Write for fishing magazines here in Australia, as well as speaking at fishing and boat shows. My favourite part about this is being able to teach others on how to catch certain species effectively- and there's no better reward than seeing kids froth out about their new found hobby- Fishing! When I'm not out and about myself, I make diving movies and run instagram accounts with some friends, highlighting our adventures whilst also giving opportunity for others to have their pictures featured also on @valhalla.Ocean.Co and @ashers_hunting.

I'm happily (and recently) married, to one of the most wonderful people you can imagine. Leah is an amazing graphics designer, and runs her own business (Studio Sand) branding companies as well as focusing on her passion- Wedding stationery. sometimes I'm jealous of her computer skills, because sometimes i really struggle!

Together we have some unreal adventures, and love traveling and getting out to the beach or out in the boat. Especially now that its summer here in South Australia, everyone is out and about in full force, which I love!
