6 ways to stay fit and healthy during Ramadan

There are some changes in our eating habit and life style during the month of Ramadan. Sometimes our body reacts negatively to the changes. However, some health tips can help us stay fit and healthy during the Ramadan.

Stay hydrated

Hydrating your body from the period of iftar to the time of sehri is very important to remain healthy during Ramadan. You should try to drink at least 8-12 glass of water after iftar till sehri. You can also drink plenty of fluids for hydration. However, consuming a lot of popular sugary and soft drinks is not good for the body.

Eat fruits and vegetables every day

Plenty of vegetables and fruits should be at your meal during Ramadan. And try to take fruits and vegetables that naturally contain high water content, especially cucumbers, watermelons at iftar. Eating this type of fruits after fasting hours can help keep you hydrated.

Don’t skip sehri

Sehri, the meal eaten before dawn, is very crucial to remain fit for someone who is fasting. According to health experts, the pre-dawn meal helps the body stay hydrated and fuelled up.

Avoid caffeinated drinks

Many of us are addicted to caffeine but this might not be good for your body during Ramadan. According to health expert, caffeine is a diuretic that stimulates faster water loss, leading to dehydration. Try to avoid caffeinated drinks such as strong tea, coffee during Ramadan.

Avoid deep frying

It is tasty to eat deep fried foods but they might not be good for your body during Ramadan. You should try to avoid fried food items or those prepared with large quantities of oil. Particularly foods that are fried with animal fat such as ghee might not be healthy during Ramadan.

Break your fast slowly

In Bangladesh, we eat almost a full meal just after breaking our fast. But, this is not healthy for your body. You need to slow down. It is best to start with a few dates and water and then wait before starting your main meal.. he shose me._20180522_223854.JPG
