My little girl is in tucked up in bed, so I took the opportunity to commandere her white board easel, I'm sure she won't mind. Although two and half year olds throw quite the temper tantrum as I'm sure some of you are aware...
Apologies for the sub par camera phone quality.
I am massively into motorsport, and have raced ever since I was big enough, starting with motocross on a KX60, I moved up to a KX80 and finally a KX100 before being old enough to go road racing, at the time, here in the UK you could start at thirteen years old on a fairly meek Junior class bike, for me it was a Cagiva Prima 75R.
I found myself on a Honda RS125 at 16, before moving straight up to a 2000 Yamaha R1 perhaps five or so years later, it was a big jump but, great fun!
I decided to try my luck with a new 2006 Suzuki GSXR1000, but we did not get on well at all, and it pretty much wrecked my confidence. From there it was onto a 2007 Honda CBR600RR, which was pretty uneventful, but then I found myself back on a proper race bike, a 2008 Yamaha TZ250, what a complete joy, and the closest I will ever get to a proper GP motorcycle. Awesome fun, also I managed to win a few comically small trophies...
I do seem to be embarrasingly short of photos of the actual bikes, will rectify that hopefully in due course.
My other passion is retro gaming,my dear, beloved ZX Spectrum 128 +2A started my love affair with computers, one Christmas far too many years ago! The hours spent playing Dizzy games were just wonderful. I am currently spending far too much time playing the remake of Crystal Kingdom Dizzy, quite unbeliveable that just a plain old Speccy is capable of such graphics and gameplay.
As I sit on my sofa, wireless controller in hand, scrolling through spectrum, nes, snes, arcade, and many more games, all playable at the touch of a button. I find myself wishing I could tell little seven year old me what is possible, he would be absolutely speechless!
I have not done much racing lately, a brain tumour, discovered in 2014 put an end to that. One night, I suffered a seizure in my sleep, ambulance was called, had a scan, and operation to remove it, it was benign, and I am doing great now, but it was a dark moment in my life, and puts it all into perspective somewhat.
I live happily with my wife, daughter and little border terrier. A little boy is due at the end of the month, perhaps won't have much free time at all before long...
Live well, love much! :o)
