This is who I am, a new steemer.

Hey fellow steemers, I've never actually used that phrase outside of my circle of drinking buddies so it's nice to have a new meaning. I am 31 years old and just recently (the past 3 days) started using steemit after a friend recommended it to me (craigdon00). I am a student of The Open University in Great Britain, I am studying a BSc (Honours) in Computing and IT. I joined steemit after closing my Facebook profile and having all of my information and photos removed from the Facebook servers (including backups). Facebook has become the worst social network on the planet in my opinion. They do nothing but spy, manipulate and sell your data to anyone who will buy it and all you seem to see now is adverts as you scroll down the screen. I have joined Steemit hoping that as it grows they will maintain a high level of privacy for it's users. I have also joined as a way to share the knowledge I gain from my university studies, if I write articles about particular subjects that I am studying, well, it's also a good use of time for revision. I wish to become a software developer as I progress with my degree and who knows maybe with a good team of developers and marketing specialists build a good business inside the booming realm of blockchain technology. I'm sitting here writing this after six hours of solid studying of binary representations of all different kinds, my brain is baked.
