Hi there Steemit world. My name is eddy and I run a used bookstore and performance venue in the lovely Driftless area of Southwest Wisconsin. Somehow, I have accumulated nearly half a million books and related paper stuff and it all lives in a 110 year old Historic Tobacco warehouse.

(Yes, most farm families near here up until quite recently grew tobacco!).

We have purchased the remains of 9 bookstores over the last 12 years including Serendipity in Berkeley, Larry McMurtry's Archer City Book Village (only 15,ooo), Old Deleven Book Co in Delevan, WI, White Owl Books in Lake Delton, WI, Ed Shui Books in Torrington CT (2 semi trucks full) and others.

We also host music and performances, readings and banquets. We have had 2 weddings this year, and endless community events for the local schools. Many amazing Wisconsin and area musicians have found their way here over the last few years including performances by Cloud Cult, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, Dead Horses, Anima, Natty Nation, Kalispell, S. Carey, Tenement, Dusk, as well as 100's of local performers.

We have done a live weekly Barn Dance Radio show on local community Station WDRT 91.9, and often have solstice and equinox banquets.

We try to save as many books from the landfill as possible. The astonishing destruction of used books across the country by businesses and institutions is alarming and shameful.

My current project is forming a music cooperative, owned and directed by local musicians. we recently put out a compilation cd of 20 area musicians/bands.
